I'm planning on getting some fish and I just want to check that I have everything I need! (Tank has no water/has not been cycled yet! Also, I have a ten gallon)
-Tank (already have)
-Lighting (I'm thinking around 30 watts but I may be wrong)
-Food
-Filter (40 GPH?)
-Gravel
-Fertilizer
-Possible Moss Ball
-Betta Hammock
-Java Fern
-Decor (Nothing Sharp!)
-Declorinator
-Heater
-Syphon
-Extra bucket for water changes
-Master test kit
-Sturdy Stand
-Hood for tank
That's all! (I was thinking about a quarantine tank, but I will only have a Betta and a snail, so I'm not sure if I need it. But feel free to correct me!!)

I never quarantine my bettas, since i don't keep them with other fish. Snails always come later for me, like an after-thought!

List looks pretty good, should add thermometer.

A net isn't a bad thing to have either, though with just a betta and snail, probably won't really need it. I pretty much only use them for adding new fish to keep the store's water out of mine. I think i ha e about every size net they sell at the store, from the little super fine mesh shrimp nets to the biggest sizes they have at Petco lol

In a ten gallon you can keep other fish with some bettas. So a quarantine tank is not completly crazy.
I recomend getting a digital thermometer.

A net is a great tool to have in your set. You can use it not only to net fish but also for scooping debris or moving things around the tank if you don't want to stick your entire arm in. Airline tubing is also handy to have around. I use it for air pumps and for drip acclimating fish

(Planning on getting a Betta and Snail for a ten-gallon)
I just got my tank filled with water after rinsing off everything. I currently have: Declorinator, Betta Food, Filter, Gravel, a Betta Hammock, and a small decor piece. My mom didn't want to get the heater and lighting at the store (hopefully my tank can cycle a little bit without them). I need to get some testing strips too, and my plants to add when the tank is cycled. (I also have a list of things I need that I didn't mention here which I can hopefully get soon!)

The light isn't too important until you have plants. The heater will help the cycle some because heat. But you should be OK for now.
