Jungle Val With Flourish Excel

Hello all. I have a 20 gallon long dirted planted tank. I added some jungle val about 2 months ago and they took off! I swear they were going multiple inches per day and new shoots every other day. About a month ago I did a major rescape as well as started a strict fert schedule. The vals were pulled up, leaves and roots trimmed and replanted in a different spot in the tank. I began dosing flourish comprehensive, iron, potassium and excel. I have read mixed reports of jungle val melting because of flourish excel, some said they did just fine with excel. Mine haven't done anything, pretty much no growth over the last month and I see a tiiiiiiny bit of melting. I could easily just stop using excel to see what happens but it has been a god send for my green hair algae issues. I never had a huge GHA problem but it was enough to drive me nuts. And now it's completely gone which I love but I fear my vals are suffering because of it. Anyone else have experience with vals and excel? Or could it be that its taking longer to adjust to the fert schedule than other plants? The rest of my plants are exploding and doing great.

I have read multiple threads about Vallis not coping with excel.

I did excel and vals. I under-dosed and they had no problems. I believe excel directs you to do a large dose after a water change followed by smaller doses. Instead, I only did smaller doses daily, regardless of water change. This method destroyed my blackbeard algae and didn't hurt the vals. After the algae was gone, I stopped dosing.

And read some where it didn't matter hahahaha

I under dose as well. They also might be taking a little time to acclimate after being moved around and the water changing.

I actually just reached out to Seachem about dosing with vals and an Elephant nose... They recommended (due to vals not elephant nose) skipping an initial large dose and beginning doses at about 25% dosage and working up to 50% and monitoring closely several weeks before raising dose any further but that with proper slow increases vals generally adapt well.

I've not started dosing that tank yet due to some other issues in a different tank but that's how I plan to go about it.

Thanks everyone for the responses, that's great to hear Seachems official answer for that. I have cut back to 50% dosings and will gradually increase dosages.

I have multiple vals (corkscrew, jungle, etc) and dose daily with excel and no issues. It is usually the Italian val that melts with excel.
I will say any time I've relocated my vals they took forever to start growing again... major rebound period. Could be what is going on.
