Julii Cory Red Spot

Greetings! I recently started a new freshwater tank after about 10 years since my last one. I have forgotten so much and was wondering if anyone could help me out with a juliI cory I have. Its s 30 gallon long tank that's been up about 5 weeks and has had 7 danios for 3 weeks now and I just added 3 sterbaI cory and 3 juliI cory on the 4th. Today I noticed one of the juliI have a red spot under the fins. I am not sure if it may be a normal trait or possibly sick? Any input would be appreciated!

What are your water parameters?

 

That kinda looks like an injury to me. Does it look like a wound or is it more like inflamed/red gills?

 

Unfortunately I am not currently home to check it currently. However this mornings test had 0 -20 nitrate, 0 nitrite, soft water, about 6.8 - 7.2 ph, and alkalinity a little low around 40. I have run out of ammonia strips so I can't test that till I pick some up tommorow.

Looks like more of a wound to me. Also forgot to mention that the cory as well as all the others seem to be active and normal behaviors.

 

I hope your cory gets better. One of my developed a red patch yesterday that got progressively bigger until he died and I have a second one who's been inactive all day who's just developed a red patch too

Update: Tested the ammonia levels today. No problem with it. The Cory still looks the same.

 

Definitely an injury if there is no ammonia. Clean water is your best friend, so keep up with water changes and you should see improvement.
