Wow, the last few years sure have been fun with maintaining all my aquariums! I had a blast, watching all of your guys aquariums, and helping all the people with many questions, and giving my opinions. From cycling my very first aquarium, to aquascaping the finest of environments, those times sure brought joy, and plenty of smiles.

Welcome to Journeys of Fanatic, a extraordinary experience.

Hi, my name is Fanatic, as you already know, I'm a hobbyist, attracted to the immense details of fishkeeping, and the aquarium essentials. I found myself on this site, on February 14th, of this year. Since I joined, nothing has been better than the help received from so many of the amazing members on this forum!

Now, let's talk tank, shall we? I started keeping aquariums in my early childhood, about the age of 6, and yes, that makes me nearly 16 years old now. I kept bettas in very small bowls, about a quart size each. I didn't really know how to care for the fish, so my parents ended up doing it themselves!

You're wondering, my betta got dropsy when I was young, and my mom poured in some epsom salts, and it caused the betta to "sleep" or pass out temporarily.... Oh, it's dead now, guess we'll flush it. That's correct, I flushed my very own betta, who wasn't even dead yet!

Nothing is like that now, I am very advanced, and accurate with my keeping skills, and knowledge. I now have a maximum of only 2 tanks, and a terrarium, but I shall be getting more I say! Christmas, that marks the date for new tanks! I will be getting a 20 gallon, dividing my 10 gallon, and starting a 2.5 gallon with betta fish, and assorted fish in the larger tank. My terrarium gets to be upgraded to a 180 gallon, which will be hand built by myself.

Okay, enough backstory, lets show off some pictures, why not!

Here's my 10 gallon aquarium, I just rescaped it, and never again will I do this.

This is my Zebra Nerite, he's my police officer, his job is to eat leftovers.

Here's Fanatic, my betta. His birthday is coming up, he'll be with me for a whole year in February.

Please stay watching on this thread for daily photos, feedings, and water changes!

Thanks for checking out my thread!
Aww, that’s so sweet, thanks for appreciating me. I’m just trying to make things better at all costs.

I don’t know his real age, but he looked young when I bought him. He was purchased on February 11th, at 3:00 PM, on Saturday. My birthday isn’t the 15th, and he was my early present.

My last birthday was terrible, I got a very bad cold, and I couldn’t celebrate with my family, and grandma who came to visit.

It's really annoying when you're sick on your birthday right?

I'll be checking out this thread from time to time!

Yep, it really is. That was the first time I had ever been sick on my birthday.

Today, I will explain my method of water changes, and post pictures of me doing it!

Water change day!
I just cleaned a quarter of the water from my tank, and I will now guide you through the things I did for it!

I start off with disconnecting all of my electrics, my filter, the bubblers, and the heater.
Then comes draining!

IMG_0117.JPG
I drain all the water into a small 5 gallon bucket, and I usually fill the whole thing.

IMG_0118.JPG
Here's a picture of the tank while draining!

IMG_0123.JPG
Now that it's completely drained, it's time for filling!

IMG_0121.JPG
Here's my conditioner.

IMG_0124.JPG
I slowly have to fill it up by using a gallon pitcher each time!

Done! Here is the tank after filling.

Did you enjoy watching my water change? I do this every week, mostly the same way every time!
I'll be able to post a live feeding tonight of my betta, and possibly the nerite snail.

Each week there's something different on this thread!
