Jewel Cichild

So my friend has offered me a beautiful newly purchased 3in jewel cichild. She bought it thinking it wasn't an aggressive fish, the fish started chasing and bitting off pieces of the other fishes fins. I have a 125g with a 4in oscar, Senegal Bichir, 4in Angelfish and a 4in Pleco. I also have a 25g with just a marbled crayfish. Should I add it to any of these tanks? I'm not sure if this fish will hurt my other fishes and I would really like to have it. Do any of you guys think this is a good idea or had an success before with homing these fishes together?? Thank you.

I'm all for a peaceful life so I wouldn't entertain it.

Well you state that this Jewel Cichlid chased the friend's fish and bit off their fins.

Then you ask our opinion on whether you should add it your tank.

My opinion is no because of the risk of having the same result.

When I sit down and watch my fish I like to see them living out their lives and carrying out their normal activities in peace. I find this relaxing and this is why I keep fish.

I do not like to see them fighting and maybe getting injured. I would not find this peaceful and relaxing.

This is what I meant by my reply.

I understand and same do I but she had the poor fish in 10 gallon with countless other fishes so I guess if I add him to a nice big tank with few fishes the aggression levels would decrease

Well that's a fair point about it being better off than in the 10g! I guess the fish deserves another chance but I fear it may not end well. I have done the same thing with a different cichlid. Just have a plan B.
