Java Moss Trimming Advice?

Hello all. In my heavily planted 20 long I have a piece of driftwood covered in thick java moss. I was wondering if anyone has any techniques or tricks to avoid making a huge mess in the tank when trimming? The whole tank is covered in thick carpets of s.repens and dwarf sag so all the trimmings fall into it and get caught up making it impossible to get all of it out.

as your're cutting have a siphon going to suck away any cut moss.

Good luck, Tell me when you find a way!. No just kidding. As said above use a siphon but I've actually clogged my python with that stuff. RIP Python 2017-2018

haha, I also though about cutting an old breeder net so I can lay it down flat on the tank bottom around the moss to catch it too. Maybe I'll do both.

I put it in a little container with gravel

I'm also experimenting with rubber bands
