Java moss refuge?

I have a guy asking me if you can use Java Moss in a refugium, so naturally, I came here =)

Any feedback would be appriciated.

I have a basketball size of it in my Freshwater sump.

Good morning,

Yes, you can use Java Moss in freshwater refugiums. However, you had this posted in Saltwater section Refugiums. I have moved your thread to Aquarium Plants section of the forum.

If you are actually asking for a saltwater tank, then no, Java Moss will not do well in saltwater tanks or refugiums.

this was in regards to salt water not fw

You can use chaeto, which looks similar to java moss, but no, you can't put java moss in a sw sump.

You can also use black mangrove trees grown emmersed. They are very cheap at ripariumsupply.com
