My java moss is not growing in my 20 gallon tall. I don't use co2 and don't have high tech lighting.

It's growing. Just remember, it only seemed like a few years ago you were young

Java moss doesn't need either one. It is a lowlight plant that grows on the fish waste in the tank. How are you growing it? did you tie it to something or just letting it float. It also grows slowly. Alison

Exactly. It doesn't need much light but does grow slowly.

Remember it will seem to grow faster with time. That 1" ball will become a 2" ball over a few weeks, but then a few weeks later it's 4", then 8", etc... because it grows in all directions. How long have you had it?

This is one of my java moss , it's tied to a rock with fishing line , it was a very small piece when I tied it , it has been growing to this size over 2 1/2 weeks .I fertilize tank weekly, temp at 82 and I have actually pulled some up and thrown away because it started growing in gravel and I only want it in the rock . I also have extra oxygen going.

Mine has grown relatively slowly over the past 2 months when compared to my Italian vals and java fern which seem to grow hour to hour!
However it is growing, just slowly. Be patient, or go and buy some more
