Java Moss Isnt Thriving

I have a very lowtech tank, have java ferns which are doing great, 10 plus stems of anacharis and they keep stemming off (yet to trim) and rooting like crazy, but my java moss, its green, amd looks like mulm growing on it ? But its not really growing or getting smaller.
20 long, with a 12watt growth light, 3 gs, 1 mts, 5 false julii. And 13 harleyquin rasbora. 76 to 77 degrees, ph 7.6 plus minus 1 on water changes, national geographic sand subrate ? Persmart sand. I use seachem flourish once or twice a week, 2 30% water changes weekly.

I'm stumped, if have figured of the 3 plants, the corys check out the java ferns and anacharis, but never touch the moss. Same with the shrimp if they even touch the plants at all. Mts stays on the sand or lower part of the glass. Shrimp fry are in breeding net.

Any ideas ? Java is poked through a hole I drilled in an ornament so it can kind of free float. Maybe that's my issue?

Java moss is very sensitive to movement and it's likely that if there's too much flow or displacement, it won't grow. I would personally tie it to some rocks or driftwood and it will definitely take off then

Hmm ok, could I get away with some netting and hang on the side you think?

Hmm, that's an odd one. Personally I have Moss tucked in crevices of my driftwood, it was free floating right in front of my airstone and grew great. For me it seemed like the more flow by it the faster and stronger it grew, but maybe I'm crazy. I know mine gets some brown algae build up, but it usually just brushes off.

Try putting it higher up or directly under the light? Mine doesn't take much, I have one in a lowlow tech qt tank, I dose with flourish, Excel, advance under a low power cfl bulb and it's double or triple in Mass in about two months.

Flourish advance slseems to work wonders on moss, maybe give that a go as well?

Aside from that how long has it been in there? Just kinda odd to me if the other are fine but Moss, which should be the easiest to grow, isn't.

The moss is has been there for 2 months. I bought some from a lfs, and split it in half put some in another tank, the other tank its taking off, trippled in size but the anacharis isn't doing so hot.

Even more stange. I was going to suggest maybe the anacharis was taking the nutrients out of the water before the Moss could get any useful amount, but if it's the opposite in the other tank that idea goes out the window.... Which plants have the biggest mass? Maybe they outcompete the other?

Idk regardless they should both grow. Is the placement ok for both? What are the other water parameters? Any differences between the tanks?

Maybe the anacharis is getting it's nutrients through roots (root tabs?) But the water cloumn isn't fertilized enough to supply the Moss? But at that point the java fern wouldn't be growing either, unless it was planted in substrate...

Idk just thinking out loud...

Good thoughts. There are maybe 3 8inch stalks in the 10 gallon that has the thriving moss. Has 5 platy in it, 1 tetra 2 10I filter. Basic gravel. Led light that came with the tank kit .

20 long. Has 12 wat grow light. 13 harleyquin, 5 3 line cory, 3 gs. But I have used seachem flourish 2 times in that tank. Also has sand inly substrate.
Bith tank paremeters are the same. Ph 7.6 to 7.8. Ammonia 2ppm, nitrites 0ppm . Nitrates are low due to constant water changes, doing fish cycling. Filters lost a lot of bb in the move I guess. Using seachem prime aswell. Gravel vac the dead leaves and sparce feeding. Tap water has 4ppm right out the tap . Also use seachem prime 20 long has 3 filters too and more airation
