Java moss in a shrimp tank

Mydonkeyfish

I am building a 20 gallon high shrimp tank and I am wondering if anyone has tips on Java moss. Thank you!

Depends on what you want to do with it. You can use it as a carpet if you plant the ends of the individual plants a half inch to an inch apart, you can stuff it in cracks and crevasses, you can bundle it in balls with thread, you can attach it to wood and rock, the uses are endless and it pretty much grows in most water conditions. You can keep it trimmed or let it grow wild, choice is up to you. I recommend looking up pictures of it in aquariums to get an idea of what it can do and then make it your own.

I have done some research and I want to attach it onto rocks and moaning wood.
How fast will it grow based on your experince

It grows pretty quick if you leave it be. I usually start to see new growth within days of putting it in. The tips will be a brighter green where the new growth is.

Thank you much 8 was also wondering if I could cycle a tank while there are plants in it?

Yes, I always add plants during my cycles. Set this one up a couple days ago for a female betta.
