Java fern?

    uploadfromtaptalk1436115204098.jpg well I picked up this java fern today and I know your supposed to tie it to rock or wood with thread which i did but is it mean to look like that it doesn't look right and it doesn't look like it is going to grow any help thanks

    Java ferns are resilient plants. They will grow.

    Just be patience and let nature its course.

    yup. Once it settlers it will start growing.

    uploadfromtaptalk1436200400416.jpg the thread wasn't tight and it came loose so I tied it up again plus I put some parts round the back is this still tied correctly thanks

    If the roots are free floating then you're good. If they are tucked under that rock, not so much. It looks like you don't have very many roots for the size leaves. Don't be shocked if you lose some leaves. I've had root damage kill most big leaves on a java fern, but tiny leaves sprouted from the bottom and it grew an entirely new plant. They are definitely hardy plants.
