Jack Dempsey Theories

HI I was looking at some posts about Jack Dempsey's, and a reply said that a good way to find a breeding pair was to buy 4-6 juveniles and then 2 of them pair up just sell the rest of the fish to a LFS. Would this be a good thing to do?

 

That's really the only way to establish a breeding pair, yes.

 

Or you could buy one male and one female and hope they pair up. It's usually easier to raise half a dozen and let them choose, if you know you can rehome the others.

 

After the fish pair up when should I sell the remaining fish
back to my LFS

 

You'll need to remove the others as soon as a pair forms.
