Jack Dempsey Cichlid White Spots/Laying On Side

My Jack Dempsey cichlid has white patches and is laying on her side, I've been treating her with ich-x and MetroPlex for about 5 days now and she doesn't seem to be getting any better. She's in a 55 gallon, all she'll eat is blood worms, she is eating tho. I do 25% water changes every week.

The fish is already going black. Not good.

I see no ich, so I think you might have used the wrong meds. Also, did you combine the meds?

Only bloodworms is a diet comparable to a human eating nothing but fastfood and junkfood. Very unhealthy as an only food.

I fear it's too late, but for what it's worth, please fill out the emergency template, maybe some impotant hint comes up. Better than wasting time on asking questions as they come to mind.

I have been combining the meds, what do you feed your cichlids? She'll only eat bloodworms, I've tried a lot of different pellets.

The combination of meds might have caused the state of the fish to worsen. Do a generous (75%) waterchange and filter out the meds with activated carbon. If it gets any better this might work more likely than the meds.

I doubt the fish only eats bloodworms because it wants to, but because of lack

I feed live or frozen brine shrimp, daphnia, mosquito larvae (white/black), sometimes frozen mysis shrimp and tubifex worms... I feed pellets maybe only once a week. No idea what's available to you.

Should I discontinue both meds?
Yes, I thought that was obvious.

Replaced the carbon filter.
That implies you had a carbon filter running all the time. Carbon removes meds from the water.

I guess it won't hurt to fill out the emergency template now, because some of the questions might be helpful now.
