Be warned if you work at a petco please don't read this. Quick back story. My daughter took my dumbo ear male up to her room over the weekend and mr grumpy face died yesterday so I picked up 2 baby boys and a baby girl while I was out today. At the register the cashier started asking me questions before she would sell me the fish. By the looks of her I have had fish longer then shes been alive but any way. She asks me if they would be in separate tanks. Answer yep. Tells me that I should change the water every month or so. Answer yep. Asks me what type of light I have. Answer not sure. Tells me that the tank can only be a maximum of ten gallons. Now anybody on here knows were these fish are going but I didn't feel like arguing so I just gave her the answers she wanted to here. So its official I have lost all faith in pet store employees.

I don't think she was interested in the fish, maybe she was interested in you...you're such a flirt.

That’s really quite something
I can’t get over the “Maximum of 10 Gallons” part, that’s so incredibly and outstandingly incorrect.

Could you imagine what the look on her face would of been if I told her truth. I probably wouldn't of been allowed to buy fish though.

Lol you should've told her that and watched her face. I bet that's an awesome tank, do you have another thread somewhere with pictures? I'm fairly new to this site

I do remember reading a post about the bettas being able to "drown" lol

I truly wish I was surprised.

Its sad that's there is so much info out there on bettas that's just wrong. I see it on care sheets and in videos all the time. Its annoying. Oh and I do have pics on my profile.

I've had a couple of employees give me the same run down and I laugh when their boss sees me then they feel stupid for even asking.
