It's Not Mts Yet, Right?

Upgraded our 10gal to a 20H and our other 10gal to a 46bowfront.

Sold one 10gal to my sister in law since she had her betta and 3 cories in a 3 gal. Not whole lot better, but better than it was. Wont touch on that one because she won't listen.

Anywho, had this 10 still listed for sale with everything... no one even asking. Husband joked and said we should put it in our sons room.

So now since its already cycled as its been running this whole time with snails in it, we moved it to his room and popped in a couple platy fry from our 46gal. Kid is over the moon with it. He loves the baby fish (he gets to feed them every morning, with our supervision and help since hes only 4)

The plan is to keep 2 or 3 of the platy fry of the same gender once we know their gender as "his" fish. Only other inhabitants will be snails. He loves snails lol ill probably let him pick out a nice mystery snail next week and a moss ball.

Then of course my ever-on-going project, the 46gal in our living room housing a mix of all sorts. I plan on having the whole back wall hornwort, as it grows more and I inevitably have to trim more.

The 20gal in our bedroom for our mollies and tetras.

I won't mention the 5gal snail bin?

But... its not multiple tank syndrome yet, right?

Sorry to break it to you...but after 2 it’s definitely MTS

I have 8, plus 7 culture tanks. So 15 total. No judgement from me.

Noodle, do you not worry that your little guy might now get into the tank when you're not looking and harm himself with the heater or electrical? It's the Mom coming out in me, sorry! You know how kids like to "help"
On another thought, glad hornwort grows so well for you, I can't grow it to save my life! You never can have enough tanks right?

Hes been around the tanks in the living room and doesn't touch anything aside from at first tossing a couple toys in them that ive had to fish out, but never bothers with them. Aside from that, hes only in his room for sleep. During the day hes in the living room or outside when hes not at school. Plus, all the cords have been hidden in the back behind the dresser, out of his reach.

(I worry more he will put toys in, but this hood has a small feeder door that is secured shut lol)

He sounds like a future fish keeper and you have all the bases covered. I didn't have tanks when my kids were young, but I'm sure they would have wanted to put all their Star Wars figurines in for sure!

He had a stupid octopus ornament but in the end he just wanted to play with it with his toy bugs and dinosaurs lol but he insisted on the treasure chest currently in the 10gal (I had removed it from the larger tanks in favour of more realistic looks anyways.).

He loves all animals. Bugs, fish, cats, dogs, birds, lizards, snakes, rodents, etc. Ive yet to find an animal he dislikes.

I had him at the snail bin picking out which *exact* ones he wanted for his tank (he chose 1 large ramshorn and 2 bladder snails lol)

MTS......hmmmmmmmmmmmm

I decided to get back into fishkeeping in May this year. Bought/stocked an aquarium Then my Kissers had a fight in the wee smalls of a morning. Bought second aquarium in late June, moved one Kisser into it. Saw the Hexagonal aquarium online, bought one in early August, Betta & Minnows moved in last week.....

They should place warnings all over aquarium retailer shops....

"Fishkeeping is addictive.....once bitten by your fish, you'll be making space for more aquariums"

and...

"Fish are for life.....not just to be eaten with chips & mushy peas"

(I have a spare room full of boxes of stuff that I have redesigned in my imagination into an aquarium room.....thankfully the boxes are big and bulky and not easily moved....so my addiction is being controlled......for now )

You sound like such a good mom/dad. And your kid sounds like a little future animal advocate.

I didn't realize that there was a member of the 4' club until I bought the 125g and someone welcomed me to the 6' club...to which I answered that I've been 6' 3" since high school.
