Haha no, same tank as in my MTS bragging thread. Except its officially mine now. In that photo, long story short, I was borrowing my neighbor's tank for the pic, to show what my project end would look like. Now he sold me that tank... I know very weird.

Heheh, I think you got mixed up with the $10. Because $2.90 x 10 equals 29

You think I could get by with one Aqueon Pro 250w for the 40B?

AquaticBrandon

I think it should be good, I just saw its rated up for a 90 gallon.

So I decided to go with CaribSea Eco-Complete African Cichlid mix, it just looks more real and buffers pH well. It's going to take two days to get here with Prime so in the meantime... I started running the filter with a 5 gallon bucket and dose 0.25 mL of ammonia to start cycling my filter.

Nice! How many cichlids are you going to buy?

That is to be determined which species I end up going with. It's either going to be Saulosi, Demasoni, Cynotilapia Afra, Pundamilia NyerereI (Hap), or some other dwarf cichlid.

You don't like this? I know where to get them but there 3 for $36.

Not a bad site. Too bad I can't get the borleyi, they come as a mated pair already, or breeding pack lol.

Unless I were to switch out the fish in my 75 into my 40B lol?

borleyI get huge not even I can have them yet. They need groups 1male to 4-5 females or the male will bully to much the female and beat her up.

Lol switching out tanks is out of the question then. I did see some sunshine peacocks at a LFS near my workplace though.

Just bought two bags of this at a LFS, $20 for 2 bags isn't too bad. I know PFS is a lot cheaper but I wanted "the real stuff".

Edit: make that $20 for TWO bags, I had written 20 bags lol

Well I was using CaribSea Eco-Complete African Cichlid. There is supposedly live bacterias in the substrate and if I rinsed, I would be killing those off. So I'd rather not waste my money lol. I'll let the prefilter and biofoam do its work, should clear out in a few hours.

Just want to make sure the Carib-Sea African cichlid sand is working and the pH is around 8.2 The sand has been there since last night. How long should I wait before I test the pH?

Takes a while Give it 3-5 before testing to see how is going.
