Issues with replying.

I have been having to type every response twice because when I hit the post quick reply button the website freezes.

A few seconds later the info bar comes up and says that the website is not responding and I have the option to recover the page.

the problem with recovering is that it doesn't save any of the things I just typed, (no auto-save either)

I am getting really tired of having to post everything twice.

Does not matter if it is quick or advanced.

I use IE, and before you say I should change my browser, why didn't I have this problem before, and why is this the only website that I have this problem on?

 

Do you only have problems with this forum?

Yes, this one only.

Minecraftforum and all the other gaming forums are fine.

I also use ThePlantedTank, and cichlid-forum, and MFK with no issues.

 

Hopefully it's just a temporary problem. For now just highlight and copy your post and if it freezes you can just paste and not have to retype the whole thing.

Try going into Tools, clear history and remove cookies and caches and do a restart. It may help.

Which version of IE?

I often get the occasional glitch with Fishlore and IE (v8)

I haven't experienced problems with Quick Reply yet.

You could try a few things;
- Change your editor mode from full WYSIWYG to the standard editor
- Change IE to load FL in compatibility mode

Does your IE show a java error (lower left of window)? It'll be an Exclamation in a yellow triangle?

Too, the Fishlore java libraries are changing regularly, and quite often, it takes a reboot to install the latest versions of java.

I also set my browser to compatability view for fishlore.

I did not see a java error. Just the bottom bar telling me it was not responding.

What do you mean, WYSIWYG mode? You mean having the actual code for font changes and addition of smilies showing?

WYSIWYG = What You See Is What You Get.

If you go to your My Settings -> General Settings, towards the bottom, there is a Miscellaneous Options.
Under the section for Message Editor Interface, there are three options, try going to Standard Mode, you probably have it on Enhanced Mode.
