10G tetra aquarium pump for $6
50W heaters for $12(aqueon) and 300W heaters for $15 (unicliffe) to $23 (orloshy)

Hard to beat a 10G tank from petco for $10 unless you know someone who is looking to sell their used tank locally

Your best bets would be to check CraigsList or others in the hobby in your local area to get great deals/freebies.

The Marina is a killer deal fro temperature gauge, but if you are looking for digital and have multiple tanks, this would work great

Amazon's probably your best bet, with the free shipping and all. The heater also comes with a digital thermometer. I may be able to first-class ship that solo, but I'd have to check the weight.

 

I also found an adjustable 200 watt heater on Walmart. Com for $10, and also found 50# of black gravel for just $20.
