I'm a "somewhat" newbie with an established 23 gal tank my son gave me. The plants are in really poor shape. As a rookie I'm guessing due to not enough light and zero fert. So for this newbie... when you say "seachem" root tabs that would be "Flourish Tabs"?

I'm sorry....Yes....Flourish Root tabs! Get everything on Amazon though. I have virtually STOPPED getting any anything from a fish/pet store because the prices are no where near close to what Amazon charges.

I have always attempted to give the LFS the business. But when I see a bottle of Prime in the 500ml size for $27.99 at store...yet I can buy if for $13 on Amazon....My dedication to the store goes south.

Another example. A bottle of Tetra Safe Start..the 8.45oz, I saw at the LFS for $27.00. On Amazon..it is $8.79

Your YouTube vids are awesome!! This newbie just ordered some seachem products due to your post and vids. Thanks for posting. (Amazon.. I buy just about everything now using Amazon Prime. Love the free two day shipping. )

The Prime membership is the bomb! I love it! Every time I order anything from the internet...I get impatient waiting for delivery. With Prime..its so fast..I have no time to get antsy. I've even been watching some of their free movies and NOW..the free music!

Thanks for the compliments! I appreciate it. I have really become obsessed with this hobby, bought quite a few tanks...and although it can be a lot of work, it comes with great reward.

What a gorgeous tank. You're an inspiration to the rest of us. ☺ Keep the pics coming.

Do you have a special cabinet to hold your tank? Or were you fortunate to have a suitable piece of furniture handy? I have an old, very strong chest of drawers I would like to cannibalize for my tank, but it would mean hacking the legs off.

Hubby nearly had a stroke when I started eyeballing the chest. Dunno if I can talk him into it.

Do you have a pic that shows off your cabinet as well as the tank? I love the color

You are talented. Beautiful tanks and great video production too! How did you learn to create such beautiful tanks if you are newer to the hobby?

I tried out iMovie on my iPhone...and it seemed to be easy enough..then I downloaded an application that specializes in introductions and endings...then I downloaded some music off iTunes. (Mood music). It all just seems to come together.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm very self critical..so I try my best to make something nice, but I;m never 100% happy with the results, so I keep on trying to perfect my work. What makes me want to get better is when I start googling aquarium aquascaping pictures. There are some absolutely beautiful tanks out there that make mine look like a joke. I just keep tinkering and piddling with the tank until I;m somewhat satisfied. I have a long way to go..but I work at it.

If you want to see some beautiful tanks, Google the name Takashi Amano. Look at his work and that will show me just how far I have to go.

I will see if I can get some pics of the stand with the right lighting for you. It was a stand designed for a 90 gallon tank. It has room for equipment underneath as well...which I really like. What I will say..is that the canopies are nice to look at, they are a bit of a pain when you need complete access to the top of the tank. There is an additional 8-9 inches of height that makes it more difficult to reach the back of the tank without removing the whole canopy. With the lights, glass and wires all looming around the top, you have to be careful removing it.

I'm a "media specialist" (ebooks, print book setup, websites, etc) and I sometimes have to shoot video and capture audio. It's very tedious and very time consuming but can be very rewarding too. You can tell by my username that I'm a OSX, iOS guy but I also run Windows on my Mac under a VM.

I downloaded this book   (Scribd) . Some of the pics literally look like photographs of landscapes. You have to force yourself to see them as the aquarium they are. Not sure if you have to be logged in on Scribd for the link to work.

I have been saying to myself that I want to go down to the bookstore and get some books on a variety of topics within the aquarium world. That book in the link looks interesting. Maybe I'll take a trip down to Barnes & Noble.today and see what they have! Sometimes plants are hit or miss. I've bought some that looked good in the store..and even with dosing Excel and Flourish, have not grown to be lush plants. If I could find a good reference book that showed the small plant and what it becomes...that would be fantastic.

I've gone totally to eBook. Amazon Prime and Scribd. Have up to ten ten books loaded on your device at a time. Then you "return" one to get the next one. Each is only around $9.99 a month, so basically all the books you can read or browse in a month for only $10. What a bargain! Local libraries now offer more and more eBooks also.

That was hilarious!! I can visualize that interaction between you two.

Wow it looks awesome! Maybe I'll have to stock up on some fertilizers, and spend even more money ;)
