Is this nerite okay?

One of my thorned nerites has looked a little odd and has been a little slow for the last couple days and I'm not sure why.

This is what he looks like,

It almost looks like his foot has melted in some spots? Like it's just kind of shriveled, mostly on his left side but the whole foot looks off.

Here is my other thorned nerite for comparison, he seems to be just fine.

All other tank inhabitants seem fine as well.

Tank inhabitants are 5 nerites (including sick/injured/whatever one), 3 dojo loaches, 3 kuhlI loaches, 8 cories, 1 betta, ~20 cherry shrimp, 3 ghost shrimp, and a few pond and ramshorn snails. The betta is very docile with all other tank inhabitants and pretty much leaves everyone alone, I know he wouldn't have touched the snails. He has been in this community tank for ~4 months so I'm pretty confident he isn't going to hurt anybody.

Ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates ~10.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe he burnt himself on the heater? It's just a standard submersible aquarium heater, I'm not sure of the brand. I know the snails climb on the heater sometimes and maybe he was sleeping on it or something when it turned on and didn't get off before it got too hot? If this were the case I would think this would happen more often with all snails?

He's been pretty slow for a few days, not moving around much. He can stick to the glass and move around on it still but he clearly seems to want to stay on the ground for the most part. I don't know if he is eating or not, he seems to spend a lot of time just sitting still.

Does anyone know what is wrong with him? Is there anything I can do or do I just have to wait until he passes? It's pretty clear something is going on but I don't know what I could do to help him.

Thanks!

I would doubt it was the heater unless it malfunctioned somehow. Mine climb all over the heater without any damage and will sleep on it.

Anything in the tank he could have injured his foot on or anything that he could have injured his foot on, like anything sharp? Also, how old is he?

Looks like you have a prefilter sponge over the intake, is that right, so we can rule out partially getting stuck there?

There isn't really anything sharp in the tank, all the rocks and driftwood are pretty soft. And yes, there is a sponge over the intake (there are baby cherry shrimp, don't want them being sucked up), so he couldn't have gotten stuck in there.

I am not sure how old he was when I bought him, I have only had him for maybe 3 months though.

Just wanted to update on this guy.

After around two weeks of staying around the driftwood in the tank, only appearing to move to go to a different place to sleep, the snail is back up and moving around the tank like normal. His foot looks a lot better and almost back to normal. It's a little smaller than it should be, maybe not quite as round, but it doesn't look anywhere near as shriveled and difficult to use as it did before.

I don't know what happened to him but I guess he just needed some time to rest and heal, he seems to be doing much better now.

Yay, so happy to hear that. Sometimes they just need some clean water and time to recover Also, sorry for not replying earlier. I think I need to start ignoring the app when I'm at work, since I miss things that way...
