Is this just marbling?

Leaning on yes but it never hurts to ask (more like I have bad paranoia-) but I came home today, and while saying hello to my betta, he suddenly started to slightly change colors, mostly in his face. The photos are probably not the greatest examples, but while his face is originally white, red/pink on the top, with dark cheeks, his ~new~ face is more light pink (including the cheeks) and the blue on his body is lighter. There were even yellow-gold specs on his face. Then after about 10 minutes he reverted back. Now he's back at it again. My poor man is having an identity crisis..

Temp and quality is great. Did a water change yesterday. Nothing new going on that would stress him out. He's been having beef with one of the nerites, but is otherwise chill. My main concern is how he's just going back and forth between the two. Is he just trying out some things?

I'd say monitor him for the next week or so- if there aren't any other weird things going on and his behavior is as usual (no lethargy, usual appetite, etc) and water parameters are normal, it's most likely marbling. Honestly I've never heard of any disease that has this symptom so it's probably marbling, but do watch him just in case~

Thank you!! These photos unfortunately don't do him justice, he has colors of purple and green in certain angles (the amount of red will change too!)

He looks angry - you know if you put your finger in the tank he would bite it off.

H's actually quite skittish haha he has never flared at me, and when I press my finger on the glass he swims away. When I have my hands in the tank he likes to swim over to see what I'm doing though. He and that nerite on the other hand.. I have no idea what he said to him. My friends joke he's a teenager going through a emotional identity crisis.
