Is this ick

Imrusty52

This may be my first fish illness. I’ve had the aquarium a year and just put in 2 new frogs from petco. I didn’t quarantine them. One frog passed from getting his foot stuck in the filter. I’ve since put nylon over it. But I’ve noticed 2 of my glofish tetras have these tiny white spots on their fins. See picture.
I have aquarium salt but not in the current tank. I’m thinking of trying salt and I read an article about raising the temperature to 86 degrees? I’m not sure that’s healthy for my fish? And how much salt do I use. I do have a snail and catfish. I don’t have the old tank so I can’t quarantine I’ll have to dose the

currently in tank is
5 glofish tetras
5 guppies
3 danios
3 platys one may be pregnant
2 catfish
1 snail

I checked water. Everything good but aminos is at .25. I just moved the fish on Sunday to a 50 gallon from a 25 gallon so I expect that.
Thank you

That looks like ich to me, though I will defer to anyone more experienced. Have you noticed any behavioral changes? Is that tetra still eating? Is it hiding?

What time of catfish do you have? I would caution against using aquarium salt for the time being as some species of catfish are very salt-sensitive. Using salt may kill them. I'm fighting ich (or what I suspect to be ich) myself and I'm using Ich-X. I've heard good things about that product. Again, I'll let someone more experienced give you a more definite treatment plan.

Petco and other pet chain stores are notorious for have diseases in their tanks. I had a friend buy some damsel fish for his saltwater tank. He didn't quarantine and ended up losing four fish. I understand that quarantine isn't always possible due to money/space restrictions. I hope your fish end up recovering. It is evident that you care about them.

Thank you. 1 is definitely a corydora. All white. I have another that may be a pictus? Similar size but spotted and darker. They were just next to each other and right as I was about to take a picture the darker on went behind the castle!

Ahhh yea taking pictures of fish can be a pain, especially when they don't stay still. I wouldn't start salt treatment until you can confirm the disease and the type of catfish you have. What is annoying is that the sooner you treat diseases, the higher chance there is of recovery. Sorry I can't be of more help. If no one else responds, I can recommend an action plan. Just a warning though, I am not very experienced in treating diseases.

Yes I will attach some. The other fish look fine. It’s just the 2 red glofish tetras.
the more I look. Their eyes look different. Almost red. The other fish eyes are nice and clear and much darker.

Now my platties are hiding. I had some api melafix that I put in thinking that it’s not ick because of the eyes and the spots don’t look like other pictures. I’m worried.
