Is this good enough food for the betta?

I have been feeding tank water-soaked Hikari freeze-dried baby brine shrimp to my fish on a daily or every other day basis and they absolutely love it. I have seen a visible change in color and confidence of all my fish ever since I started cutting down on the flakes for brine shrimp. My Betta also loves it, but I feed him 1-2 pieces along with 2 betta pellets in the morning. After my previous betta died of some bloating and swimbladder complication I make sure to not overfeed the betta. Do you think this is enough food to cover his needs? I feed the brine shrimp to him using a thin wooden stick to get 1-2 pieces to his mouth and he violently attacks that stick, so I am thinking either he likes the brine shrimp so much or he is too hungry. It could also be that he is violent in nature as he flares at his reflection all the time and he previously viciously attacked some juvenile harlequins I had with him.

I think that is good enough if you up the pelets just a tiny bit. Just make sure to have variety in your fish's diet.

I wish my Betta would eat more of a variety. He seems to only like pellets. I feed him 3 pellets in the morning and then I try different things at dinner time. If it's not pellets he will look at it and swim away. I think he is holding out for pellets. Even after fasting him for a day he scoffs at anything else.
I have tried many different types of foods. Blood worms, Mysis, bug bites and flakes. He only gobbles down pellets. I give him 4 pellets for dinner and he eats them all in less than 30 seconds.
What else do you think a Betta would eat??
Not to high jack this thread or anything. Just thought OP would like extra info. as well.

Thanks
Eric

You could try frozen food like brine shrimp.

You could also try soaking some freeze dried bloodworms or something like that in Seachem Garlic Guard

I haven't tried shrimp yet (from the fish market) but cut down into fine pieces it wouldn't seem like a bad idea. My previous betta was picky about his food, fortunately, this betta eats everything..
