Is This Daphnia? Question

    I got something from my aquarium. I think it's daphnia. Am I right? Can anyone help IMG_20180420_191631.jpgIMG_20180420_183107.jpg ?

    No, that's an Ostracod, also called a seed shrimp, though it is not a shrimp. They are similar in size and shape to Daphnia, but have harder shells that many fish don't like to eat. They can often pop up "spontaneously" in aquaria, I never figured out the exact way they got in, but you can get a large population of them if your tank has detritus and mulm in it.

    Can we feed it to fish? Is it good as daphnia?

    hmm will we ever find out how they get in....Like its just clean water....water makes bugs?
