Is this an actual King Betta?

I bought this guy from Petco the day I went they just restocked and this guy caught my eye. I've also been looking for a king betta for a while now too. So I'm just wondering is it an actual king/giant betta or just a regular plakat he looks bigger than a regular betta he has longer body and more buff/body mass. His plastic cup he was in was also bigger than the other cups the bettas were in. I also just got him today so I don't know his full size yet.

 

He's gorgeous. He does look rather hefty. A regular betta is pretty small when you purchase, and he seems like the size of a regular adult betta (but heftier) right now, so there's a good chance that he will get fairly large.

He really does look like he has a thick body.
