I put some new fish in my tank (55g) and cleaned off previous algae off the rocks(purple colors) and moved the sand around for the brown colors. Is this algae? Or something else?

Brown is diatoms and red is cyanno.

Diatoms will take care of them selves [the brown on sub].May take a little time though . Is tank new ?
I would suction out the red [cyanno] .It should come off easy like in a sheet or film. You need to find the reason you have it though to keep it from being a reoccurring issue.

Cyano does not like moderate to high flow. You either need another wave pump or you need to reposition the one you have.

You just want lots of flow in that area, and the rest of the tank as well though. Just make sure water is moving in that area.
