Is This Algae On Crypts?

HI everyone,
My tank is finally cycled. I have a 5.5 gal, 78F, sponge and internal filter, with Crypt WendtiI Green as foreground, Amazon and Rosette sword mid and background, Anubias and JF on driftwood, floating Elodea and Dwarf Water Lettuce.

I noticed the brownish color on the crypt leaves at the beginning of the cycle, they were dots and know they spread over the leaves even more. I'm guessing it's brown algae which is common in new tanks. Is this correct? If not, what could it be?

It is shaded some by the dwl and the elodea. Light is Aqueon Planted Clip On. Timer is on 7am-10am, off, on 7pm-10pm, then off for the night. I dose a few drops of Easy Green fert once per week and have 2 Flourish tabs under there. Tank is about 3-4 weeks old. So not too much light, no algae elsewhere.

Also, any suggestions on floaters that handle condensation well? I have tried Frogbit and jumped to DWL as they seem to handle it well but now they're melting. I was gonna take them out and propagate them until they grow more. They have been thriving well. How about Salvinia Minima? I love the long roots! Might even try normal dwl, they seem HUGE!

Thank you!

Beautiful tank!
It looks like a thin layer of algae from what I can see. You can try to gently rub the leaves to see if it comes off.

Thank you!!

Some of it does rub off and some stays on. What should I do? I have amanos that I will adding to the tank tomorrow. Will they eat this kind of algae? And how would I get rid of it anyway?

Algae doesn't hurt anything, really. It may be a bit of an eye sore, but it won't harm anything in the tank. Amanos are good cleaners, so I assume they'll work on it.
I haven't ever really tried to get rid of algae so I can't help you much in that department.

It looks like brown diatom algae and is common to new tanks. You could add a Nerite snail to help clean, a 5 gallon is too small for Oto catfish or Bristlenose which would do a good job as well. Amano shrimp need at least a 10 gallon tank. Be patient and in a few months your cycle will be more established and you will see less of it.

Thank you! I've seen amanos in 5 gal tanks before but if they need a 10 gal, maybe I should stick with rcs, but I don't want a shrimp that breeds like crazy like rcs does. I was planning on 2-3 amanos, and they look pretty small as well.

Thank you for the link!
