Illness & Symptoms
How long have you had this fish? It's a 4 month old fry that was birthed in the tank
How long ago did you first notice these symptoms? I first noticed while doing my water change yesterday
In a few words, can you explain the symptoms? So I know that it's totally possible platys to get tumors and stuff especially if they have black spots on them. So like this 4 month
Old fish doesn't seem to be acting out of the norm like it's swimming, eating normally. It just has a a black bump on only one side of it. It supposed to be a sunset platy( same basic colouration as it's mom) the bump is in the black area of it's tail/side. You can kinda see it in the first picture if you need more I can get more

Have you started any treatment for the illness? No
Was your fish physically ill or injured upon purchase? Was not purchased was born in my tank and no it was a healthy little baby fry at one point
How has its behavior and appearance changed, if at all? It just has a weird raised area on one of its side/tail are its shown in the pictures I attached. It's still swimming around fine but occasionally hiding out in the plants but that normal fish behavior right?

There's really no way to determine what exactly is causing the lump. It's either benign, cancerous or Viral.
There are no meds or treatment that can fix the situation.
You can wait & see if the Platy heals up, or euthanize it. I doubt the situation is contagious.

Okay thanks. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something contagious. As long as my platy seems to act normal and doesn't seem like it's suffering and it's Quality doesn't degrade a ton. I'm probably just going to let live
