Is this a good tank setup for bettas?

Hey guys, I was searching through Youtube and I came across this video regarding someones betta tank setup and I was wondering if its a good setup... I saw the dividing setup and I guess since they see eachother all the time with this one it would stress them out more? I'm thinking of either the setup in the video or the dividing setup, but I don't know which would be better for bettas

Not about the substrate or the plants or the crayfish, but the transparent rooms for them. If this is a good idea could how many should I have in a 10G tank? I also might get some amano shrimp too.. Thanks for any help

No it is not a good set up for bettas. I've seen this video and it appears the poster no longer keeps them like that. They need some room to swim and those little betta condo things just don't offer them enough space. The only difference between this and the cup is at least the water is filtered but I would not keep fish like that.

No, no, no. How sad. The tank itself is more than suitable- for ONE betta. Not only are those poor boys in the boxes stressed out from seeing one another, they do NOT have enough room to live, not anywhere approaching enough.

Not good.

Horrible!!! It is just inhumane for any Betta fish. They need minimum 3 gallons and preferably 5 gallons of heated, filtered water. Having two Betta fish staring at each other is just stressful. Please don't.

Okay okay okay, I will not do this.. I just wasn't sure, because they each get a chance to swim by themselves.. Thanks again!

I actually read this guy keeps something blocking the bettas from each other, but removed it for the sake of the video.

I, personally, think it is terrible. I don't understand why you would let one roam free and stick the other two in such a small space and rotate them. They would hate being in there. You could set up the tank to look like this then only get one betta. Or divide it and get two.

It is horrible...... At least he keeps dividers, and show them to each otherfor a few minutes, that is 1/2 a thumbs up for me, but then the miniature space is horrble, he gives one good space and puts the rest in the tiny ones! that only good ofr 1 or 2 bettas ( the whole tank.). I understand for some small times or maybe short emergencies those condos are ok, but ONLY a min. plus, did you notice there was area for more bettas in the condo!

He no longer keeps his bettas in that contraption or that tank as it has been converted over to a Saltwater set up and he is using it to house algea. Just an fyi.

Not defending or condoning his behavior of previously housing bettas in that condition but atleast the betta condo is not being used in an inhumane fashion for now.

I've decided I'm going to get dividers for the tank and put in either two male bettas, or one male and one female, but I never want to spawn (I have nowhere to put 500 fry, and nowhere to sell them too) when I get dividers should I try to make it so they cannot see eachother? Like say two dividers, and a tank background between them?

I used the plastic canvas like the sticky thread talks about, and I put a bunch of plants on both sides so they can't see each other. It seems to work ok, but if you get a long finned Betta (I guess all of them are capable of this except plakats?) you might end up with a tail biter on one side (or worse, both). I had one that was a tail biter before I put him in his half of the 10 gallon, and now he isn't. And the other one wasn't a tail biter before I put him in his half and now he is. Both are half moons.

I really like having the split tank, and I'm glad I tried it, not sure I will do it again though.

I'm not 100% on this, but I had read someone that if you have a male and female in the same tank, the female will become egg-bound. Not sure if there is any complication that comes along with that, but that is why I decided to keep my female in another tank. Maybe some breeders will know better about this.
