Is this a good quality heater?

I saw this ad on Craig's List for 350w heaters for $15.00 each. I want them to replace the for heaters for my 70G tank that I got on eBay that basically stink. They are in metric, which I can deal with, but the cords on them aren't even 24" long so I have to have a surge protector plugged into a surge protector and it just dangles behind the tank. And the knobs on top are really hard to turn to adjust.

I talked to the woman this morning. She said her husband was into freshwater and saltwater fishkeeping for about 10 years, then got tired of it and got rid of it all. I am going to meet her tomorrow to check them out. She also has 2 1000w heaters that she will let go for $15 ea. Said they cost her husband over $100 ea.

I just want to make sure I am not going to be sorry. Here is the ad:



She said he sold his 150G setup with stand and all accessories for $150 and his 90G with everything for $90. I'm bumming that I didn't see that.

 

Try to get the brand. But honestly for 15 dollars can you go really go all that wrong? That's an incredible deal.

 

Yeah, I figured for that price I could at least look at them. She's not too far from my mom so I am going to meet her in the morning after work. Which reminds me - I should be sleeping right now instead of browsing Fishlore. Oh well, lot of coffee tonight.

I just got the brand name. It's a WON pro Aquarium heater. For this exact same heater a 350W is $57 and the 1000W is $155. So I think they will be worth the $15 each if they're in good shape. I realize the 1000W is overkill for anything I have now, but I will put it in my hope chest (as in I hope I can get a 150G tank at least some day)

edit: I got those prices from petstore.com. Maybe they're cheaper elsewhere. The woman said he bought a lot of his stuff from Drs.FosterSmith

 

I am so excited! Possible new tank

I met the woman this morning and looked at the heaters. They looked to be in excellent condition. The one 1000W one that was in the saltwater tank had some residue on it but that was it. She also had a couple of beautiful resin mountain/cave sort of things. Very realistic looking. They were each about 24" long and I bought the pair for $35. Thought it was a good deal.

The best part - in the course of talking I said I was getting the 1000W ones as well because my dream some day was to have a tank at least 150G. She said they had one 150G tank left that was built into a wall and if her husband could get it out I could have it for $40. I couldn't believe it. Now I'm on pins and needles waiting for a call as to whether I will get it or not. Can we say "happy camper" boys and girls.
