Is This A Good "light" Stock?

in about 6 monthes I will be upgrading from a 20 to a65 gallon aquarium. right now I have...

1 swordtail (female)
1 platy (female)
7 black neon tetras(gender. unknown)

.the 65 tank will be4 feet long.1 foot back and I think 2 feet tall.
my tanks planned stock is:
1 sword tail(female)
6 platys ( 1/2 male female ratio.)

edit I have lots of filtration for the pleco
18 black neon tetras
1 rubber lip pleco

will this work?

Those are the exact dimensions of my 60 gallon tank. If you have standard filtration for that size tank that stocking level would be considered light.

Keep in mind that having male and female live bearers may result in a lot of platys down the line, so your light stocking may turn into heavy stocking.

Lol. I know what you mean. I had to go to all male platies because of all the babies!

so if I switch to all female platys ill only have fry for a few monthes and then it should be good, no ,ore fry if I cull.

Yeah that would work but females can have 2-3 broods without males. Dozens of babies. You’ll be culling for months. Not easy, I’ve been there. Males are the easy way.

Yah it’s more work but in the long run it may be better. I had five males and they spent all day chasing each other and trying to mate with anything in sight, guppies, neons, snails.
