ITS ME AGAIN everyone must think im so annoying that or im just really anxious heheh...

I know the title seems like 2 different topics but its in the same tank and im afraid ill get in trouble for having like too many threads posted :/

Anywho...i was out all morning and just got back after like 6 hours and finally had time to check on my fish. I went to feed my new betta, Vincent, and theres this giant mass of bubbles like someone's washed a plate :0 im still very new to betta keeping as i am to the whole hobby and when i tried googling it i saw people asking if it was their betta or ammonia?? Which sounds weird so lemme post a pic real quick

ft my finger for reference lol

It does kinda look like a bubble nest but my other betta who ive had for longer does make fairly big nests that cover a lot of area but his are just a single layer of bubbles on the water. So to me this looks insane.

My other question is like I said to do with this tank anyways. Basically when I got my 1st betta he was my first fish and i did a very monitored and controlled fish in cycle with him. But due to issues later on (recently) in that aquarium, a real cycle has only been established for 2 weeks now so I wasnt so happy to put over filter media etc so I decided to do another fish in as i had before becuase despite those issues (which i do have a very extensive thread on) it worked really well for me.

But it's now been 5 days since he was put in there and ive been feeding him every day and testing every day but theres just no ammonia and he isnt bloated or anything so i dont think he just isnt pooping. The tank was previously set up empty but filled and i had put a carbon media bag in it from my 15g for literally no good reason but that probably had BB on it. I also added 3 rocks that were in the previous scape but I just didnt even consider that it would still be there bc i stripped the tank? I just have no idea. With 1 betta in a 15g it only took a few days for ammonia to appear so to my mind 1 betta in a 5g has much less water volume? I just idk im honestly lost. Maybe im not even making any sense.

Thanks again guysss

Lol, it's fine! I think you are not annoying. That bubble nest is indeed a bubble nest. It is just a huge one. My betta used to make huge nests like that all the time. About the cycling question IDK what to tell you. I thnk it just you can't control ammonia and you don't know when it pops up, and we can't control nature, patience is key, and let the cycle do its thing and let it play out.

Thank you so much I guess I was just worried I was doing something wrong, but I do feel reassured now! I'll continue to keep an eye on it and thank you again for confirming about the bubble nest!
