Is this a Bristlenose or Common Pleco?

Mike4912

Hello!

I got a few juvenile 'bristlenose' plecos 2 weeks ago. They have been hiding pretty well so been a little hard to see them. Now that I'm looking at them closer, they don't seem like the regular bristlenoses I usually see. Are they bristlenose or common plecos? Any help is appreciated! I hope these pictures help.

Shoot, thanks for looking at them, going to try and see if I can return them. Are these common plecos?

Think they are or another species whifh get huge. If they were sold as BN's, the LFS should take them back.

They are probably common plecos, but there are so many different plecos that they are given numbers rather than names. Only a few have names.

If these are common plecos they can get quite large. I have one that is probably about 15 years old and he is well over a foot long. I have to keep him in a tank by himself.

As the plecos grow, especially if they are in a tank that is too small, they are likely to fight until you are left with a single pleco.
