Is there something wrong with my platy?

I have a platy in a 10 gal that seems to have some white on the edges of her bottom fins. She's acting normal but I'm concerned it's an early stage of an illness as I have a 55g with a huge outbreak of idk what and it started out like this. I originally bought 4 platies and 3 of them died within the first two weeks and the last one is still going. She hasn't been in contact with the fish in the other tank but I had one of them in her tank (before she was in it) and moved it back to it's original tank after a few days. (I was trying to quarantine it but then I realized all of the fish in its original tank had it so I thought I might as well put it back). I took out most of the water and cleaned out the filter before letting it cycle and adding the platies just to make sure they didn't get sick. Maybe that wasn't enough? The two tanks eat the same food but I don't think that's the problem, it's bug bites tropical fish food. I've had her for about a month and a half and her condition hasn't changed so I'm wondering if it's maybe her colours? I don't want to add anyore platies to her tank until I'm certain there nothing wrong with her.

So I have a couple of questions.
How long have you had your tanks?
What are your parameters?
Have you noticed the fins receding?

I've had the 55g set up for about 5 months and the 10g has been set up with the platies for about a month. I'm not sure on the parameters at the moment, I'll test it tomorrow. The fins look the same as they have since I've gotten her. Thanks for the reply!

It is said that Nitrifying bacteria takes around 30-45 (don't quote me on this because I think I am getting this for the time it takes for saltwater tanks) days to settle if you didn't cycle the 10 gallon before hand.

Are the scales looking puffed out like a pinecone?

No the scales don't look puffed on the platy, or the fish in any of my tanks for that matter.

It could be that is just how the platy looks. You can only monitor it from this point.
Also, regarding cleaning your filter, instead of cleaning it so it is spotless (like in soap and water), you should actually leave it (unless it is clogged of course). If it is internal filter, it actually harbors tons of nitrifying bacteria so I would avoid scrubbing it. I actually took it out and tried rinsing it out (with my aquarium water) and there was like nothing stuck to the filer cartridge but the plants that occasionally get sucked in. I suppose it is because the bladder snails eat the detritus (they breed in there too) but just rinse it out if anything (with your tank water).

Yeah I would normally rinse it in tank water but I had one of the sick fish in a tank with it so I thought I should be safe and deep clean it and let the tank re-cycle before adding more fish

Update: I still haven't gotten the parameters, I know it's urgent but I've been too busy. I got home today and checked on her, she gave birth! I'm happy about this but really stressed out. I was gone overnight last night so I couldn't stop her from eating them. I had a spawning mop in the tank just for decoration and it managed to save 4 babies. I few them egg yolk and crushed food (please let me know if I'm doing something wrong) but my main concern is that if there is something wrong with the mom, will the babies get sick too? Thanks for all the help so far and I'll get those parameters asap.

I have heard when livebearers get sick, they will abort. Your fish could be fine considering it ate your fry.

Yeah no problem. Platies are hardy.

So you think it's just her colours? I'll still keep an eye on her to be safe but she's probably fine? Thanks for all the help. I'm so excited to raise these babies! (At least the first batch lol)

Hello again! I just wanted to ask a question about my platy. I've been noticing A LOT of poop in her tank. Like 10-20 pieces a day. It started when she had her babies and I assumed it was cause she was snacking on her babies while I was away but it hasn't stopped. Could I just be that she's been having more babies and eating them before I noticed? I haven't been feeding her any extra. Just want to know if it's normal or something I should be worried about. Thanks for all the help!
