So there is no way of turning it off?Cichlidude said:What others have done to totally remove the skimmer is a thin coat of Aquarium silicone over both sets of intake slots to block them off.
I like mine. I just upgraded my Tidal 55 to the 75. Believe it or not I'm putting the 55 on my 10 gallon shrimp tank. To protect the shrimp what I've done is remove the cover to the motor and install some small coarse sponge inside to cover the intake slots on the bottom. Will take some small mesh material, paint it black and cover the upper intake to the skimmer. Also added a prefilter to the bottom of the intake tube. Had to cut down the intake tube to fit the 10 gallon but the flow control is perfect for the 10 gallon also. Probably won't have to clean the filter for 6 months or more.
