Is there any way to make tap water harder (for snails)

I want to breed some snails (difficult I know :)). The problem is that I have very soft water. I was wondering if there is anything I can put in the water? (after it is out of the tap of course) Thanks!

An egg shell in the tank works well. It'll dissolve in a couple of weeks, and then you can add another. Some people like to put them in a pantyhose or a pouch rather than directly into the tank.

Some people will put in a calcium vitamin into the filter instead.

Thanks! I want to get some snails and sell them when they breed for the fun of it. Do you happen to know what are the popular snails??

apple snails, malaysian trumpet snails... there are a few. Search around on the forum. :)

I read that Apple snails need large tanks, so I will probably stay away from them. I'll have to see if I can get Malaysian trumpets. Thanks!
