Most breeders cull many of their female bettas simply because of their gender. Everyone wants to buy males, and only a handful are interested in the females.

I would rather not do this, if possible I would like to give them away instead. I will offer them up in around 6 to 8 weeks from now for Ares and Athena's spawn. Obviously you would have to pay shipping cost, unless you want to come to Riverside and pick one up. Please let me know if you are certain you want one, maybe want one, want to see what they look like first or whatever.

I might. What does shipping one cost and are there any colour choices on these females?

They are the offspring of the betta in my avatar, and a solid platinum white female crowntail. They are 4 weeks old now, and all white, they will either get the butterfly pattern or they won't I don't know.

I have another spawn 2 weeks younger, these fry will probably be all kinds of mixed colors.

I'll have to figure out the postage, I'm not sure at this point what supplies cost yet.

I'm sure it will be relatively close to $15 for shipping. I'm not sure about legality of shipping fish to Canada, but I ship stuff there all the time, just not fish.

Shipping would include insolation and heat packs and well as some miscellaneous stuff.

Shipping fish to Canada is very expensive from what I've been told. I would be very interested in one or a couple of betta girls

I might be interested, have to talk to the other half first. Let us know if your going to do the same thing with the offspring from your khoi pairing, I would LOVE to take one off your hands

Shipping to Canada is not much more than shipping domestically.

I have not idea what kind of mixtures will come out of the koi pairing. According to people who know more than I do, I am likely not to get any that look like the parents. And if I do get a couple I won't be giving them away. That doesn't mean that there won't be some interesting multi-color patterns.

I will be making the same offer for that spawn as well. But no telling what they will look like, I've heard some strange things about breeding marbles, it wouldn't outside the range of possibility that they all come out as solids. Or they might start out as solids and then change to something else when the older. One of the weirdest genetic traits I've ever heard of for any species.

I think the issue with shipping to Canada is not necessarily the expense, but more the 'red tape' involved. I assume you would need permits, vet checks, and all that fun stuff.

I was just speak of shipping cost in general. There is unlikely to be a practical legal way to ship them to Canada.

Yeah, I didn't think it would be likely. It's a shame, I've seen pictures of the parents and their absolutely gorgeous! I'd hate to miss out on this opportunity. Especially since I cross the border all the time.

You could always find someone to accept the package for you on the other side of the border.

But would they allow him to cross the border with the fish? I am just asking since I have never crossed either border.

I was actually thinking about that. How much would shipping cost to Watertown, NY?

    *She lol
Yes, they should. I've crossed the border with Betta's in the past with no issues, I actually just bought some Rams in the states this past Saturday.

I am estimating about $15 for Priority shipping. By the time comes I will have a better idea of exactly what it costs.
