The last time I fed my betta a pea, she seemed to really struggle afterward.

It was a frozen, organic sweet pea (not sweetened, just the variety). I poured boiling water over it, let it cool, peeled it, and she ate about half of the inside in little bites.

That's right, right?

She's been having other health problems, so it might not be related to the pea. Just wanted to check before I try feeding her another one.

The pea probably has nothing to do with the health problems. As for actually feeding peas, i like to mush them up and then put them on a toothpick. The fish will eat it off the toothpick. Otherwise, the pea isn't soft enough to break up themselves.

The pea still isn't soft enough to eat if you remove the skin and defrost. I do both those steps, and then i still mush up the pea and feed.
