I am left with one adf and I want to add a betta to her tank, is there a good way to introduce them?

While its possible it really depends on the specific bettas personallity. If you're planning on going out and buying a betta I would just get more ADFs instead. They seem to be happier in groups.

I'd just go with more ADFs as they prefer to be in groups. It is really funny watching them interact. Also wit them you know they will get along but adding a betta can be risky unless you already know the bettas personality.

Currently its a 1.5 gal, all my mom will let me have, in September I'm going to get my ten gal running... In the last month and a half, ive lost four adfs so ive kinda given up, though I wouldn't want anything to happen to my adf. If things go badly, I do have another small tank...

No can do. bettas need a larger tank. Even adf don't belong in that.

As I said, its temporary until September.

Yikes. Don't add anything else in your 1.5g. One ADF maxes out the bioload all on his own. Is the tank cycled?

Regardless if its temporary, its still not ok for the animal for the next 4 months. Plenty of time for diseases and death.

I'm not sure I would consider 3.5 months as temporary. As SK said, 4 months is plenty of time for things to go awry. If you think about it, 4 months is a significant amount of time for a fish; it can be a pretty big chunk of its life!
I definitely wouldn't add anything else. Unfortunately I think all that can really go in a 1.5 gallon would be shrimps.
