Is the tank worth saving?

So I have a 15 gallon tall tank. I have had it for 6 months and tonight it popped a seam. I caught it in time to save my fish and floors. Question is, is it worth resealing? I don't know how to seal a tank but google is there to help teach me. Did this happen cause its a tall tank? Should I just get a new tank instead?

I think the "dollar-a-gallon" sale is going on, now. You're going to need a few back-ups, anyway.

Get a new one.

If it is glass, then repairs are pretty easy and cheap but will take a while. The only reasons not to are convenience and time investment. It if is only a 15g you might be able to get a cheap replacement. Personally I'd get a cheap replacement if I needed to house fish, but then reseal it anyway for practice if nothing else.

I would just buy a replacement for the peace of mind, also need to debug why the seam popped if it was a new tank? Make sure your tank is level on its stand?

Yes, a new tank popping seal is concerning. Either it was defective or you need to carefully examine the surface it's been sitting on.

Definitely a new tank and repair of the old one as I read your post as you want to give it a try. Have fun!!
