I've got to figure out what to do with my Platies.
Backstory:
Bought 11 Platies 5/6 months ago, they're all dead now. All were adults, only one male. 5 died in the first week, not a lot of symptoms. One swelled up and started spinning 20 min before it died. A few weeks later, one died of columnaris. Two months later, some started to get bent spines, looked fine from the side, from the top they were squiggly and didn't look good. Then anchor worms, then over the course of the next several months, they all died. I was concerned about fish TB and always used gloves, since it's been a while, I sort of forgot a lot of the stuff. I think there was one thing that may have been a lesion, but it could have been from the anchor worms.
I have the babies still. They're fine. They've even bred and have some 3 week old babies. No signs/symptoms of anything.
The bent spines really concerned me. I want these to go in a bigger tank, they're currently in a 10 gallon, and with 6 adults and 5+ babies, that won't last long.
Is there any way to rule out fish TB?
Can anchor worms cause bent spines?
How can I determine that they are safe to be with other fish?
