here is a link to it. Rid Ich Plus® | Kordon!

I think I also read on it that it might end up killing the fish? and that by the time they have white spots their immune system is already weakened so it might not work.....

thanks!

I know i have seen people have success with it. Ich-X is what i keep in my fish cabinet. Have also had good success with that ich treatment from Jungle Meds i think it is. The Jungle one though, did stain the silicon and airlines in the tank something fierce though...and pretty sure it isn't safe for scale-less fish and invertbrates. As a sidenote, haven't had serious staining issues with ich-x.

I wanted to get ich-X but I can't really find it in Canada. the only things my lps had where rid ich plus and some dissolving tablets by tetra but they didn't look as good.

The Jungle Meds or whatever were dissolving tablets as well. Worked, but stained. The Rid Ich should work.

The way I read the ingredients of “rid ich” it contains malachite green. That is the main ingredient in any successful medication I have used to kill the parasites. Left untreated the fish are going to die with these parasites in the same glass box and the fish unable to swim away.

My experience has been when treated early enough everything survives. Fail to notice a problem outbreak or not start treatment immediately and the fish die .

Following the instructions I have treated tanks with tetras, live bearers fry , egg layers fry, scaleless fish and cherry shrimp and not had a problem.
On two separate occasions when the outbreak was extreme I lost fish , a pair of rams from auction in 24 hours having missed the beginning of the outbreak and a school of neon tetras that had it really bad before I saw it.
In my climate every minute counts.

would cupramine work? how long does it take to kill the ich?

her ich has been showing signs for 5 days now and I don't know how long she had it at the pet store do you think the treatment will still work? also when I went to my lps last night all the wild type bettas had severe ich so I think it came from the supplier.

Good morning betta06.
Please see the time stamp on your post in this screenshot. I am not ignoring your question just live in a different time zone.

The little I read on the Seachem cupramine product suggests it will kill the ich.

In post #5 I stated my experience on the need for immediate treatment as soon as you see the parasites and that I feel every minute counts. These parasites multiply fast in warm water.

Use whatever medication you have. Follow the instructions.

she is looking a lot better! her fins have unclamped and lots of the spots have disappeared she still definitely has it just not as bad. it is also awesome for eclipse (one of my other bettas) who can now get his new 5 gallon if I don't have to use the other medication I bought her.

it worked great and I am surprised at how fast she healed! sadly so many at my lps have died from it so I am trying to see if I can take them heal them up then return them once they are better.
