    55gal

I wouldn't add an Oscar in a 55 gallon. Oscars get 12-13 inches or so I believe. The width on 55 gallons are 12-13 inches I think, so it will have a hard time turning in the tank. I think a 75 would be better for an Oscar. The Oscar would probably eat the tiger barbs

Agreed! 75 for 1 oscar! If you stick an oscar in a 55 sever stunting could occur.

Yes, barbs would be a nice snack. For a 55 gallon tank suggest a couple nice ciclids.

Mbuna or peacocks would work well. LeoDiaz, you're up lol.

2 types of mbunas or peacocks can work in a 55. They have great colors. If you interested i can give you more info.

Cichlids don't really school, they're territorial fish.

Maybe a big school of Congo tetras, at least 10. You could do an angelfish for the cichlid.

im not a fan of angelfish. and could i do 5 tiger barbs and 5 rosy barbs and like a jack dempsy?

Tiger barbs require a big school or they get quite aggressive. I would not do a JD in a community tank, it'd probably kill everything off.
