Is New Otto Okay?

New here and to the hobby. Just got one Otto Cat two days ago. I noticed he has two bubbles like thing in his head that's on both sides. Is this normal or something to worry about? Looked at a ton of Otto pictures, didn't see anything like it. Searched and searched didn't see a question about this being asked. I was rushed by the guy at LFS, forgot it's a social fish and should have gotten at least one more and after the tank had been completely cycled, wanted to return him but the store is closed for two days. Acclimated Otto to the new tank over night. He's doing fine. He always seem to have a full belly. Left a piece of blanched cucumber in just in case but uneaten. Otto's active, not afraid of Betta and Betta doesn't bother him either. Not sure what kind of Otto Cat he/she is. If someone can help ID, will be great.

First I would add 5 more otos because they do best in groups of 6+. Second are you talking about right in between his eyes?

They're called nares, and are flaps of skin to guide water into the nostrils which are right below them. All Otos have them.

As Sarah73 says, Otos absolutely need to be in a group of at least 6. They live in groups of thousands in nature, and will suffer on their own.

Nares are usually in the front as small holes right? It's that bubble thing right behind and above his eyes.

Below I drew an arrow to it if that helps.

Oh I didn't see that. It looks like a wart or small tumor(don't freak out). He could also just be born that way. Is it on the other side?

All of my ottos have the same thing. I worried about it for a while, but they never changed.

Have they acted weird?

No, I think all Otos are like that. I went back to the store and one other store. All the otos have those two near the head. Some are more obvious than the others.
