This whole post might be scattered but stick with me!
I have 4 bristlenose plecos in a 20G long, (don't worry! I'm getting a 55 very very soon) the biggest one is a tiny bit less than 2.5 inches. Two are albino and two are black/brown. So far it seems like I have a male and a female for both colors, the albino male being the alpha.
Now that I'm done with the backstory, it's time for my questions. First, the main question, is my male albino protecting his eggs or is he just chillin? He's been half inside that cave for two days now, only coming out to eat and only if I drop some right next to the cave. He's also doing this fanning thing with his fins and idk if that's related to the whole thing. The only reason I think he might be protecting eggs is that he's already growing in his bristles and one of the females seems to bed mature too, which leads me to my second question. Is my albino female mature or what? I'll post pictures if she gets onto the glass.
Here's the male though,
