Is My Live Rock Cured?

I know… I've asked this question multiple times, but it's something I can never seem to get an answer to. I've been curing about 20 pounds of live rock (one rock) for about a month now in 5 gallons of water, it's going to be added to an already established tank. I don't know what the phosphates were at for the first half of curing, but they've been reading about 2 for the past 2 weeks (high, but stable). I also just tested ammonia and nitrite today, both are reading 0, and I don't believe ammonia ever spiked. I haven't done any water changes with this rock yet either. I'm guessing if my phosphates are staying stable, and my ammonia has been reading 0 for a month now, it is probably cured, but because I have never cured rock outside of a tank before, I'd just like to double check.

I couldn't find info in your other posts. I was wondering where you got your live rock from. Was it already in a tank for curing at the shop where you got it? Or did you order it online? It is probably cured from what you're describing.

I made another thread, but I didn't clearly state it was going into an already established tank, so I think people got confused, and instead I got recommendations on how to cycle a tank, my bad. Yes, it was in a large tank with other live rock and some powerheads when I bought it, it was out of water for a total of about 30 ish minutes, from the time it took to check out and then drive home.

Oh good plan to keep it separate to confirm it was safe. It sounds like it's ready to add to the established tank.

Awesome! Do you think it's an issue that I never changed water on it? I've heard mixed things, I actually did no water changes because someone on here said that you shouldn't do that. Either way, all the readings are fine, so I'm guessing it probably doesn't matter too much, and I figure if 20 pounds of rock in a 5 gallon bucket is reading 0 ammonia, it will be perfectly fine in my 70 gallon tank.

Maybe they thought you would slow down the cycle on the rock if you changed the water. I agree that the zero test is what's most important right now.

Yeah I think so, cool, I think it's good, I'll probably add it in next week when I start scaping the tank better.
