I’ve read that when kuhlI loaches are carrying eggs you can see green eggs under their belly. I can’t see eggs I just see a green belly, is she carrying eggs? Is it even a she?

Do you have any other kuhlI loaches to compare it to? The females are plumper when ready to breed. Otherwise it is very difficult or impossible to sex them.

Yes there are eight others some small and thin non of them compare to her thickness

have tried to find photos on google I can’t find any that help they seem to just show photos of burst belly’s on kuhlis

My only additional advice would be to keep tabs on her with the camera and see if there is any progress. How long have you had them?

From what i’ve read- it’s pretty hard to sex a kuhlI loach, since there isn’t anything different between the two. Yours doesn’t look to be carrying eggs, but if it was, it would be pretty hard to breed them.

She doesn't look lie she is. Also they aren't sexually mature for a few years

I have 8 kuhlis that came from the same lfs, same tank, but are clearly different varieties. Patterns and sizes are very different, 2 are significantly smaller and thinner (not sick). I thought the fatter ones were carrying eggs, but they're not, it's just how they are. I had a female that did carry eggs and it was very obvious because you could see the blue eggs through her skin. Like a lot of the posts on the internet, the eggs ended up bursting out of various spots and the kuhlI died. Your kuhlI could just be a different variety than your others and its larger size could be natural.
