Is my Java fern okay?

Okay so my Java fern has been in my tank the same amount of time as most of my other plants which is about 3 weeks now. With the windelov Java fern I’ve seen obvious new growth but with the regular Java fern it’s just been looking kinda weird with these brown things growing on it. Any help would be appreciated. Here’s a pic of how it looked before and now.

What about the brown long stringy things? But okay I’m about to put some tape over the blue light anyways so maybe that’ll help. Should I up the dosage of fertilizer?

Some of the spots are from deficiencies but the little brown things are roots from new plants growing. Java fern grows out tiny versions of itself, so soon you will see little leaves poking out. Once they get a little larger you can pluck them out, that’s what I did.

Wait reallly?? But it’s growing from the leaves itself so isn’t that weird or no? Well then that’s awesome news, I thought something bad was happening.

Mine grew out of my leaves too and I was panicked lol, It’s normal for them

Okay thank you so much! It was confusing since the windelov is doing fantastically.

 

Before long you will have several more plants. While getting acclimated to your water it is stressed out. Yes, I do believe plants can get stressed. Some house plants react to being talked to and being touched too. This one is putting a lot of its energy into trying to protect its species by producing plantlets. Mine did that when I first got it but it has now slowed down and the Mother plant is doing really well.

 

I just noticed some baby roots coming out of my java fern! So excited!

That’s so interesting. I’m glad to know it’s not doing nearly as bad as I thought it was. I took it out to get the thread off since I got super glue and when it was out I examined and saw some actual plant growth right by the things growing out of it!

 

I can't wait until I have baby ferns!
