Help Is My Golden Apple Snail Dying?

He will only half come out of his shell and won’t eat. The temp is usually around 23C and it has a filter in it. If I poke him gently he will retreat back in to his shell but he won’t get up and crawl around.

It is also a temporary tank which is 8L

Sounds like something in the water is bugging him, what's the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate at?

ammonia .25, nitrite 0, nitrate 0. The tank isn't cycled but I change the water every other day.

Do a 50% for the time being, normally mysteries can handle 0.25ppm for a short while, but since something else seems to be up (could be old age) it's better to have as little as possible
