Long finned bettas are males, shorter finned bettas (other than plakats) are females. You're appears to be a male crown tail.

If that one is female it has exceptionally long fins. Not saying it can't happen, but it looks more male to me.

I know that some males can have a 'false ovipositor', which is basically a false egg spot.

No that is a male, long fins is always male unless you have one of the fancier female (rare). I hope you do not plan on keeping them together, they will fight and harm/kill each other if placed in the same tank.

Are you new to fish keeping? I think you should research more on keeping bettas. Both will need a 2.5gal tank with a heater and filter. A 10gal with a divider will work too. The tank must by cycled as well (Nitrogen cycle).

Definitely looks like a male. I’ve had 2 male Bettas, and they have long fins. Both of your little Bettas look beautiful!

Both of the fish look like males. Please don’t put them in the same tank together because they will kill each other.
